The feelings of isolation and increase stress induced by measures to address Covid-19, as well as the recent social unrest over the blatant and systemic racism in our nation has have had a significant impact on the well-being of students and faculty alike. Stress and trauma both have a negative impact on social, emotional and academic development/learning. Trauma-informed teaching and learning (TITL) is a term coined by Janice Carello in 2015 to refer to a trama-informed approach to college curriculum delivery. The information and suggestions in the following resources are important for us to consider as we plan for summer and fall instruction. Most critical will be to create a safe and supportive environment for our students and colleagues.
